Sammie and I have had a deal since we got married that I would keep my hair long as long as he kept his face shaved (when we started dating, he had a goatee). Every once in a while, I would tease him about wanting to cut my hair. Finally, on Christmas he granted me permission to cut my hair, promising not to grow out his facial hair. Well, once I had the permission, I lost my nerve. It wasn't until he was in Istanbul and I was contemplating a hot and humid Texas summer that I finally did it. And I'm glad I did! It hasn't been this short since about 1999...

Melb! I have never seen your hair this short ... except for on one side when you got it cut asymmetrically (by accident) in 2002? 2003? THAT was funny!! It looks MUCH BETTER than that now! I love it!!
woo woo! Melb-you're beautiful! I'm so proud of you that you actually did it.
Wow, did Sammie know you were going to look so awesome with 'short' hair! You look so beautiful! Oh...while you are in Texas this summer, don't you think you'd like to hop over to Arizona for a few days?
Meliss!! Your hair looks great. Happy belated bday by the way! I was hoping to surprise visit you as I was in PA during your bday weekend... but then realized that Philly is actually further from you than DC... Sigh. My geographic smarts at work. So Texas??
Incidentally, I thought of you lots this last weekend while performing in a choir along with George Dyer and Jenny Oaks Baker... it was incredible. Hope you're well and lots of love!

I love it! You have always had such great hair but I love the new short look. Will you be stopping at Balboa this summer after Texas?
Looks great! Is this you now or in 1999? You don't look a day over 16!!
Seriously, I am getting wrinkles and gray hair.
Gorgeous!! You and Sammie both have great hair. :) And good genes!
I just showed Jones this picture and he said, "Oh Wow! That's like the old Melba and how she used to look for many years."
That makes you the young Melba now.
You look beautiful, Melb! I love the haircut. We'll have to definitely connect this summer!
